Tell us about your background?

I am an experienced Paediatric Social Worker providing therapeutic counselling support to children, adolescents, and their families.  My journey in counselling has been defined by a profound commitment to alleviating the emotional burdens faced by young people navigating life-altering challenges. With a trauma-informed lens, my approach is to work with a deep understanding of the complex interplay between life events and emotional well-being.

My counselling experience encompasses individual and family therapy, with a focus on issues such as mental health, eating disorders in young people, loss and grief, and the profound impact of medical diagnoses on both the child and the family unit. Through evidence-based therapeutic interventions and a compassionate approach, I aim to empower clients to navigate adversity with resilience and strength.

I believe in a systemic approach to therapy, recognizing the interconnectedness of family dynamics in the healing process. By involving both the individual child and their family in therapy sessions, I aim to ensure a holistic and supportive environment conducive to growth and healing.

What’s a session

like?

Client’s can expect a casual and calm environment that meets them where they are at in their journey. I believe in creating a space that feels safe, welcoming, and free of judgement, allowing children, young people and their families to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences at their own pace.

I encourage open communication and active listening, ensuring that all clients feel heard, understood and respected. I recognise that each client is unique, with their own set of challenges, strengths and aspirations, and therefore tailor therapeutic interventions accordingly.

I focus on building a strong therapeutic alliance with clients, establishing trust and rapport that forms the foundation for meaningful growth and healing.

So, what are you like

outside the therapy space?

I enjoy spending time with my family as well as walking the dog.

I find pleasure in retail therapy and going to the gym when I have the energy!
