Tell us about your background?
I started my career as a nurse, and soon moved on to be a Midwife. I then moved on to Counselling and psychotherapy. I’ve been fortunate enough to work in a variety of settings with young people and families. Some of these include organisations such as, Youth off the streets, Waranara (Good Shepherd) Junior and Senior School supporting young people who had disengaged from mainstream schooling, and Red Cross Young Parents Residential Program.
I’ve co facilitated wellbeing workshops to Secondary school children across Sydney schools, and facilitated Parentwise, a parenting workshop supporting parents to establish more positive connections with their children.
I’ve run art therapy and resilience groups in Schools in San Francisco California.
For the past few years, I have worked for an organisation called Blue Knot, where I have provided counselling to adult survivors of Childhood trauma and neglect. This work has provided me with a deep insight into the ways unresolved childhood trauma can impact adults. It’s also taught me the value of an authentic, meaningful connection within the therapeutic space.
What’s a session
A session would be person centered, casual, meaningful and connected. We would work together around your goals, and when needed be creative and have some fun. I value authenticity, and am warm, kind, empathetic and compassionate. I believe in working alongside people to nurture and encourage their strengths. I value healing, repair and recovery. I approach therapy using a trauma Informed perspective.
So, what are you like
outside the therapy space?
Outside the therapy space you’ll find me spending time with my teenage children and my dog Luna. I love to do yoga regularly and take any opportunity to be in nature, usually hiking, swimming and sitting by the beach. I value time with my friends, hanging out, eating, and exploring.
What are you
